Where do I begin?

Pechta, from the moment that we became close, you have been my rock. You have gotten me through such hard, dark days and held my hand through the tears of pain and laughter. You have showered me with love and care, reciprocated my effort, and showed me again and again how much you care for me. Our friendship will last a lifetime. I know now that you have found your soulmate — me. Jk haha.

In all seriousness, we know this already but we are friend-soulmates through and through. And I’m so glad I was there for your special day to witness your union with your romance-partner-lover-soulmate. You and Corbin are one of the healthiest couples I know and I look up to your relationship and marriage.

I'm so excited to share the photos from Colin and Alex's proposal and engagement session!

I was SO honored when they asked me to capture this special moment. Seeing these two together, it's clear their love is the real deal. The way they look at each other, the way they can't stop smiling around each other - it's the kind of connection we all dream of.

Throughout the session, I was in awe of how naturally they interacted. There was no awkwardness, no forced poses - just pure, unadulterated love. They were so in the moment, so present with each other, that it was like I wasn't even there. It was magic, pure and simple.

Over the past 4 years I’ve gotten to know these two on a deeper level and they are the most welcoming, inviting, warm-hearted individuals who truly care for each other and the people around them.

Alex, my dearest friend, you are such a light and joy to be around. You absolutely radiate positivity, humility, and grace and I’m so grateful I get to call you my friend. Your laugh is contagious and fills up any room, something I was proud to capture in this shoot. You have the biggest heart and are one of the most genuine people I know. I’m so so happy for you, you deserve the world.

Colin, you got yourself a good one sir. Don’t know how you did it, really, but I’m glad you did. All jokes aside, you’re perfect for each other. Your humor compliments her laughter, your honesty compliments her understanding, and your affection compliments her steadfastness.

Oh, how lucky am I to be a part of my best friend’s special day! When Justin asked me to take their pictures of his engagement to Maddy I felt honored to be able to get a front row seat to one of the happiest moment in my best friend’s life.

Here are some of my favorite moments from their proposal this past weekend.

Maddy, you have made my experience in Chicago one I will never forget. You are so beautiful on the inside and out and you deserve the world. You always find a way to make my day better and I can always count on you to try a new restaurant with me. Our friendship has grown so much in the past few years and I am so grateful for that. From high school to moving to a new city to your engagement, I am so excited to be a part of your journey!

Justin, you are such a great match for Maddy. You’re goofy and easy-going and always down to try something new. Your obsession with board games and beer is equally matched by her, and your energies and hospitality make people gravitate towards the both of you.

You both are amazing people and what a beautiful moment to share with the both of you. Congratulations Maddy & Justin! <3
